9th Annual Open House
“Barrels & Bluegrass”

A mixture of old favorites and new elements are planned for 45th Parallel Distillery’s annual Barrels & Bluegrass celebration on Saturday, Sept. 29. As always, there will be free tours scheduled throughout the day, which begins at noon and ends at 6 p.m., along delicious cocktails, live music, local food trucks and spirit samples with the purchase of a 2$ tasting glass.
Bluegrass band The Dang Ol’ Tri’ole will be playing the event for a third time, followed by newcomers The Common Ground Company and The Gentlemen’s Anti Temperance League. The traditional bluegrass lineup comes with a European twist this year: To celebrate breaking ground on our scotch-style single malt whiskey, we will be kicking off the entertainment with a bagpipe performance by our new Scottish Head Distiller, Bob McKenzie.
Big Guys BBQ will be serving pulled sandwiches and classic sides, and next door neighbor Barley John’s Brewery will be offering beer brats and vegetarian chili. Later on in the day, Barley Johns will be hosting an Oktoberfest celebration.
In addition to brats, booze and banjo music, there will be a collection of talented artists and vendors. Cigar rolling by Maria A. Caram Ibarra, a favorite activity from previous years, will return. Live painting with Art by Jesse Brodd will also be back this year. Keep an eye out for any later additions and updates on our social media accounts below:
