On Friday July 11th we will welcome WCCO’s Chad Hartman to broadcast live from the distillery from 12-3 for the “Goin to the Lake” summer series spotlighting fun and interesting things to do during this glorious hiatus from winter we call summer. Tours and tastings will still be by reservation starting at 5pm.

Yes indeed, it is finally happening.
Wednesday August 20th at 2:00 pm our friend John Moore and his wife Laura Subak will be breaking ground on their brewery just down the block from our distillery and we couldn’t be more excited! We first heard of the possibility a few years ago and have been eagerly awaiting their arrival ever since. If you have time, come out and welcome John and Laura to New Richmond and maybe stop by and say hello to us as well. Congratulations you two!

We will be releasing just these 2 barrels of our “W” wheat whiskey at our fall open house on September 27th! This whiskey has been aging in new oak barrels for over 4 years, and now its time to enjoy it. “W” will only be available at the distillery, and only until these 2 barrels worth are gone! SO don’t risk not getting a bottle, come on out to the party 12-6 on the 27th, music start at 12:30.

This addition will include some extra storage space, an actual bottling line and a larger retail area with a bar that’ll be larger than 4 stools! We were excited to learn that the Growler magazine reader’s voted 45th Parallel WI Craft Distillery of the year for 2014! And not just Distillery of the year… Border Bourbon was also named the WI Craft Spirit of the Year! These awards are voted on by thousands of libation loving readers of the Growler, which is exactly who we are trying to impress. We are honored to have the support of those pursuing the finest in local craft beer and spirits in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Our policy of tireless self scrutiny and quality control ( read sampling) has given us an amazing spirits portfolio which we will continue to grow and develop.
Thanks again to all you who have supported us from the humble beginnings to the “full-service spirits powerhouse” the Growler has coined us. Don’t worry, there are plenty of pieces of fruit to zest and dusty floors to sweep to keep us humble well into 2015.

This March 23rd, 45th Parallel Spirits celebrates 10 years as a federally licensed Distilled Spirits Plant(DSP) in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Starting as one of the first 50 craft distilleries in the United States there are now over 1300. 45th Parallel was only the second in Wisconsin and the first near the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area to begin distilling spirits in small batches. Starting as a one man 3000 square foot operation making only Vodka, it is now a 14,000 square foot distillery employing 6 full time and several part time employees. Distilling and mashing 7 days a week the distillery now manufactures over 20 different spirits labels.

45th Parallel will be talking all about distilling at the Minnesota State Fair on Friday, September 1st, and Saturday the 2nd. We’ll be doing 3-5 distilling seminars per day in the Creative Activities building.
